Out my mind

By

Clinched fists, split wrists, stained glass, fragile past,

Seen unseen, big dreams, broken wings,

Sounds familiar to those who’ve cherished what used to be

Among the living, side eyes piercing with those red eyes, long enough to feel your soul die,

Not from harm, but don’t be alarmed, the ringing you here is not from a joyous cheer,

Fear of losing, that name that used to be proclaimed with strength and courage, Anxiety said “let me sit right here”,

Choosing the path to get away, but here comes her sister depression, trapped your mind and body to stay,

Constant talks of why she didn’t walk away if it was all so bad,

The bad was the start of the realization of what is frustrating through the eyes of the castrated,

Doesn’t give you the option of getting mad,

No need to seek refuge, that only leaves you spent and confused,

So walk with shame after being told you’re the blame,

With your head hung low, whispers and you can barely remember your name

Smile so deep, even with everyone you meet, hide the hidden secrets behind the masks, thinking to yourself please don’t ask,

Grounded by episodes untold, that your mind will always hold, kids watching their mother fold, no relinquish in sight, she try to fight with all her might, just to lay quiet at night,

Doom strolling just to fall asleep, feeling too exhausted to even have a bite to eat,

It’s getting late, but you’re still awake, not knowing how much can you take,

so you shut your eyes, hoping you might cry, just to figure out that well done ranned dry
